Wireless interface

phx21™ takes its input and presents all of its output through a wireless interface to a PDA. The absence of input buttons, displays, switches, keypads or physical interface enables the phx21™ to be smaller, lighter, less susceptible to breakage and easier to modernize and upgrade.

Hands-off calibration (with Cal3.0™)

phx21™ can be set for any type of calibration (daily, precision or drift) to be automatically performed. System would automatically ignite phx21™, monitor/ confirm warm-up time, administer calibration gases and then perform electronic calibration, test results and record and store all results. This means that the phx21™ will be more efficient to operate and ensure against human error.

Method21 calibration failsafe

phx21™ will compare internal calendar with its calibration records and display a notice to the operator when any calibration event (such as daily calibration, quarterly precision calibration or periodic drift assessment) is required but has not been performed. Owner would have the option of setting calibration requirements in the system and creating either the option to override the failsafe notice OR disable monitoring until calibrations are performed. This means that a Technician cannot inadvertently use a phx21™ that has not been properly calibrated.

Automatic back-up ignition with failure notice

If primary ignition source fails (during warm-up or routine operation) a back-up source will ignite the detector AND display a recurring message to the operator that maintenance is required on the primary ignition source.

Onboard maintenance records

All maintenance records will be stored directly in the phx21™ onboard computer. This will enable the owner to have a ready source of all maintenance that has been performed on each phx21™ for its entire lifetime.

Automatic pump blockage protection

If the probe flow is blocked by moisture, water, product, dirt, dust, grease, debris, paint, the tip of a Technicians finger, the sample line is kinked, the filter is removed or a leak develops in the sample line the phx21™ will automatically shut down and notify the user.

Status Display

The phx21™ will automatically display notices indicating system needs or the necessity of doing routine, periodic maintenance.

”The thing that I enjoy about the FEInspect™ software is that it allows a Technician to focus more on the duties and responsibilities of a Technician, and not so much on equipment specialist hands-on training and problem solving. Where we used to spend time trying to figure out why something happened, FEInspect™ spends time making things happen and ultimately helping us to stay in compliance and ahead of schedule. I was once told that the difference between a good mechanic and a great mechanic is the tools that they work with . . . FEInspect™ is a great tool to work with if you’re trying to get the job done and done right." - Alvin Woods, Sterlington, LA

FEJupiter™ encapsulates our years of experience and technical expertise into a powerful suite of utility plugins that enhance your LeakDAS Mobile monitoring software. Our unique plugin architecture provides the user with a completely customizable set of tools and features that allow them to monitor safely, efficiently, and accurately. From Technician safety and awareness to tag maintenance and protocol compliance, FEJupiter™ will ensure that your LDAR program makes the most of the technological breakthroughs that are revolutionizing our industry.

    Four important FEJupiter™ features:

    1. Customized Minimum Inspection Time for Component Types and Sizes -Client can specify variable minimum inspection time based on component type and size. For example:

      • 10 inch valve could be monitored for 15 seconds.
      • 1 inch valve for 5 seconds, etc.

LeakDAS has only one default minimum inspection time for ALL components no matter what the type or size.

    2. Inspection-Deflection Manager -Client can specify deflection response parameters, FEJupiter™ will take into account the Client specified variable minimum inspection time and force the Technician to monitor for the correct amount of time for each component when a deflection is detected. See examples below:

Component Client specified min. inspection time Client Specified Deflection Technician detects x ppm above background FEJupiter™ response
10 inch valve 15 seconds 25 ppm 30 ppm FEJupiter™ will FORCE the Technician to monitor the component for an ADDITIONAL 30 seconds.
1 inch valve 5 seconds 25 ppm 30 ppm FEJupiter™ will FORCE the Technician to monitor the component for an ADDITIONAL 10 seconds.
    3. Data Security Manager -LeakDAS Mobile requires the Technician to go through a multi -step process to save data during monitoring. FEJupiter automatically backs up all data to the SD card every 10 minutes, with no Technician involvement. This back-up also means that if the PDA were dropped from a tower, all information could be retrieved from the SD card with minimal data loss (less than 10 minutes).

    4. Application Security Manager - FEJupiter™ includes the ability to lockout all games on the PDA and to lock the date/time, to prevent Technicians from falsifying records.

IRJupiter™ is an imaging process that makes sense, benefits are clear - the challenges are more difficult to see, alternative work practice raises many questions. LDARtools is developing the Answers.

The Alternative Work Practice raises our hopes for an LDAR process that is more efficient, less costly, safer and more reliable. The HOPE is easy for everyone to see and appreciate. At the same time, it raises a wide variety of questions that are not so obvious – or so easy to solve.

The professionals of LDARtools, working with our clients, have started to identify and address these questions:

    1. How do we determine if an LDAR component can be included in our Imaging Program?
    2. How precisely do we have to define the speciation of the process at each component site?
    3. How do we perform the summation calculation that determines the parameters of the Daily Instrument Check?
    4. How close does the camera have to be to the component in order to collect a valid image?
    5. How long (in seconds) does the stored image have to be?
    6. How can we efficiently confirm that all images are captured within the allowable distance?
    7. How can we efficiently confirm that all of the required components have been properly imaged?
    8. How will we store the video?

LDARtools has developed an innovative method for organizing the components in your Imaging Program into discreet Image Groups. Each Image Group is defined as follows:

    • Reference Pt and View Spot: The primary piece of process equipment or structure that the operator will use to place his tripod (e.g. 10 FT South of Vessel 22).
    • Number of Components: Number of valves (or other components) to be imaged with this group.
    • Image Distance: The MAXIMUM distance that the camera lens may be from the furthest component.
    • Image Group: The physical group of valves that will be imaged in a single video clip.
    • Target: The “frame” of components (optical and infrared) that corresponds to the Image Group. The Targets are permanent records in your IRJupiter database.
    • Optical Target: An optical (normal light) photo of the Image Group that serves as the Target for the operator.
    • Infrared Target: Still, infrared image of the Image Group provided as a Secondary Target.
    • Image Time: Variable period of time, specified by you, to confirm that the operator has viewed the image for the appropriate amount of time, based on the number of components in each image.
    • Daily Image Confirmation: Automated QC process that enables you to confirm that any or all Image Groups have been properly framed and imaged for the specified time.

    How Shepherd monitor works

We know what is at stake when an H2S Release occurs: Health, Safety, Morale, Liability, and the Bottom line. With the help of the Shepherd H2S System you have put your company and your personnel in the best possible situation to resolve the incident.

Shepherd H2S System is a computerized system for linking an array of personal H2S sensors and panic alarms with a satellite communications network that triggers a series of communications to a central information center whenever an H2S leak is detected in a remote location.

Normal response to an H2S Release:

    • Worker wears a traditional H2S monitor.
    • Beeper goes off.
    • Worker goes down.
    • Alarm can be heard in the immediate vicinity. But ONLY in the immediate vicinity. If no one is nearby no help comes. The worker is all alone.

How does the Shepherd Communication System respond to an H2S Release? Shepherd sends an instantaneous satellite notification to Shepherd Monitor and the Emergency Response Team as soon as an H2S exposure or alarms occur, so that immediate help can be deployed.
